Configure Notes and DML Options

Before you can use the Web Tray to use Notes and Documents in the Sage 300 Web Screens, you need to configure Notes and Document Management Link using the Sage 300 Desktop Screens.

This describes the configuration for both Notes and Document Management Link as there are many common components.

The detailed steps depend on your activation code for Information Manager. Select Notes or Document Management Link depending on which module(s) you are using.

Prior steps

This steps assumes that you have completed the previous steps to install and configure the Web Tray

Configure Notes and/or DML in I/M Options

Configure Notes in I/M Options using the Sage 300 desktop screens.

If using Orchid Notes, you need to use the Desktop Screens to configure Orchid Notes (Notes Types, Roles and User Roles) and add Notes configuration in I/M Options.

For details refer to: Setup Notes to configure Information Manager Notes in Sage 300

Note: With the current release, Notes running Extender Scripts are not available on the web screens. You need to configure Notes saved in the Sage 300 database.

Configure Document Management Link (DML) in I/M Options

If using Document Management Link, you need to add the configuration rows in I/M Options using the Sage desktop screens and setup the DML Users.

For details refer to: Setup Document Management Link

Note: With the current release, you can only use DML in the web screens if using DML with Network Folders. SharePoint support is not available in the web screens.

Restarting the Windows Service

It may be required to restart the Sage desktop, the Orchid InfoManager Web Service in Windows Services and Internet Information Services (IIS) after installing Information Manager and adding new configuration records.

Example: If you add new configuration records and you don't see what you expect to see in the web screens, the first step to troubleshoot is to restart the Orchid InfoManager Web Service.
