Using Email SmartLink

Requirement! You need to be an "DML User" and have a license available or be configured as a Workflow User to use this functionality to send the email and to open the Sage 300 screen. Refer to the Orchid website for details: Orchid Users

Click on the Email icon , available on all Sage 300 screens. This will open your default mail client (Outlook or other).

Paste / Ctrl V to copy the link to the body of the email, add other comments and Send the email.

Tip:

Email Recipient

The email recipient can click on the link, and open the screen with the selected record, for example AR Customer Screen for Customer 1200, Mr Ronald Black.

Note: If the user is not logged in to Sage 300, they will be prompted to logon with their usual Sage 300 credentials.

Example on the AR Customer screen

Click the Email icon to open your default Email editor.

You can paste the link to the AR Screen with customer Number 1200.

The email recipient can click on the link in the email, and open the screen with the selected record, for example AR Customer Screen for Customer 1200, Mr Ronald Black.

Requirement! The recipient needs to be setup as a "DML User" or an Extender Workflow User.

Detail Setup and Examples

1. Activate Orchid Information Manager in the Sage 300 database.

2. In I/M Options / Notes/DML/Extender Tray Setup, set "Automatically Start Notes/DML Tray" is set to Yes

If using Document Management Link

3. In the system Tray, select the Orchid I/M Tray icon and drag it on the task bar.

4. Click on the Tray icon in the task bar, select "Options"

5. Ensure "DML User" is ticked.

6. Restart Sage 300 Desktop.

The Email link functionality is now available on all Sage 300 screens.

If using Extender and Workflow Users

Sage 300 users configured as "Workflow Users" in Extender License screen have access to Email SmartLink functionality.
