Extender Overview

Important! The documentation refers to the latest product update for the latest version of Sage 300, currently version 2026. Unless otherwise specified, the content applies to all supported versions, currently versions 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023.

Extender is a multi-function module that allows you to extend the functionality of Sage 300 (Accpac) in many different ways.

  • Configure events to enable alerts, log changes and monitor changes in Sage 300 Data.

  • Design Python scripts to automate business processes, enhance systems integration and provide tailored validation and alerting by extendingSage 300 Business Logic (as defined in the Sage 300 Views).

  • Develop Custom Tables and Custom Screens which form part of the Sage 300 database and database dictionary to tailor the core system to meet a Customer's exact needs.

Extender Configurator Overview

With Extender Configurator Edition, you con configure

  • Log when a record is inserted, updated or deleted through Sage 300 View or log when a view field being amended

  • Send an email when a view record is inserted, updated or deleted or a view field is amended

  • Create an Information Manager Note when a view record is inserted, updated or deleted or a view field is amended

  • Run a program when a view record is inserted, updated or deleted or log a view field being amended

Extender Developer Overview

Extender Developer Edition allows you to attach any number of PYTHON 3 Scripts to a Sage 300 View are executed each time the view is accessed. Using PYTHON 3 scripts for site/company specific customisations provides a flexible way of implementing site specific customisations, without having to compile the customisations and/or upgrade them for future versions of Sage 300.

Extender Architecture

Extender configurations and customizations work in the Sage 300 Development environment (SDK). You can use Extender with Sage 300 core modules or 3rd party modules developed in the SDK. Configurations and scripts are saved in the Sage 300 databases.
